Welcome to my blog!

         
  My name is Patricia Barrionuevo. I live in a small coal-mining village called Río Turbio, situated in the south-west end of Santa Cruz province. I am an e-ttendant at the Teacher Training in Instituto Lenguas Vivas Bariloche. At present, I am about to conclude the course of studies which requires performing Teaching Practice at three educational levels: KINDERGARTEN, PRIMARY SCHOOL and SECONDARY SCHOOL.

  This blog is my Digital Portfolio. It includes reports on my Practicum experience and it also serves as an instance of reflective learning during the process. 
 The present portfolio has been organized into sections which include personal information, professional development, and views related to teaching and learning; as well as accounts on the proceedings of the practice periods conducted on each of the educational levels.

An aim

This is exactly what English has given me and what I would like to spread to my pupils. I hope that they have the chance to experience how learning a new language can affect their lives in a positive way!

Teacher´s role

         I hope that every time I will enter a classroom this quote comes to my mind!          A succesful teacher aims at the integral development of learners which, of course, will then affect the whole environment; after all learning is social (L. Vigotsky).          Teachers should promote learning which is meaningful to all individuals; they have to create contexts which favour not only acquisition of contents, but also the development of values, collaboration, and skills. All of which could only be attained by motivating students to take an active role in their learning.
