UPA NURSERY SCHOOL opened its doors to me and I was able to embark on my first level of the Practicum experience: KINDERGARTEN. 

The first steps included:
Getting to know the educational context and group of students.
Diagnosing kids´ level of English and other characteristics.
Agreeing and organising the Practicum Schedule with teachers in charge.

The results were gathered in the following Institutional Report


Practice Stage

After acknowledging the educational context, I was ready to desing the road map:


¨A Colourful Monstrous Kindergarten Tour¨

I introduced my first lesson with the aid of Pippo, a monster puppet. This resource allowed me to contextualize the target language aimed at during the whole Kindergarten Practicum Period: colours, numbers and face parts.

Each lesson shared with children at kinder was a new fruitful step in this career. Memories of this wonderful journey are backed up in this digital journal.

An aim

This is exactly what English has given me and what I would like to spread to my pupils. I hope that they have the chance to experience how learning a new language can affect their lives in a positive way!

Teacher´s role

         I hope that every time I will enter a classroom this quote comes to my mind!          A succesful teacher aims at the integral development of learners which, of course, will then affect the whole environment; after all learning is social (L. Vigotsky).          Teachers should promote learning which is meaningful to all individuals; they have to create contexts which favour not only acquisition of contents, but also the development of values, collaboration, and skills. All of which could only be attained by motivating students to take an active role in their learning.

            My name is Patricia Barrionuevo. I live in a small coal-mining village called Río Turbio, situated in the south-west end of Santa Cruz province. I am an e- ttendant at the Teacher Training in Instituto Lenguas Vivas Bariloche . At present, I am about to conclude the course of studies which requires performing Teaching Practice at three educational levels: KINDERGARTEN, PRIMARY SCHOOL and SECONDARY SCHOOL .   This blog is my Digital Portfolio . It includes reports on my Practicum experience and it also serves as an instance of reflective learning during the process.   The present portfolio has been organized into sections which include personal information, professional development, and views related to teaching and learning; as well as accounts on the proceedings of the practice periods conducted on each of the educational levels.
